Chaplaincy Services & Clinical Pastoral Education
The Department of Chaplaincy Services of the Carilion Medical Center exists to support and enhance the faith of patients, their families and staff during times of illness, injury, suffering and death through a variety of pastoral care interventions which may include pastoral counseling, reflective listening, prayer and pastoral presence. In addition, the role of the Department of Chaplaincy Services includes working with staff to increase their understanding of the spiritual needs of patients and /or families.
Forensic Nursing
Carilion Clinic is dedicated to caring for patients–even through the worst circumstances. Our forensic nurses provide medical services to patients of all ages and genders who have experienced physical violence or sexual assault.

Medication Assistance Program
Our Medication Assistance Program allows us to help qualifying individuals get the medications they need, keeping our patients healthy and out of the hospital. The program allows pharmaceutical companies to donate prescribed medications and our coordinators also work with patients to find reduced pricing and coupons for various medications.

Carilion’s Occupational Medicine team offers a wide range of health care services for workplace injuries and illnesses and provides ways to maintain optimal health. Our Employee Assistance Program also provides professional counseling, training and other support for employees struggling with a wide range of personal or professional concerns.
