Welcome Dr. Matthew Dernbach, MD.

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine is pleased to welcome Dr. Matthew Dernbach, MD, to our faculty.

Dr. Dernbach earned his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry and completed his Psychiatry Residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. He subsequently completed fellowships in Medical Toxicology at Emory University School of Medicine and the CDC, followed by an Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship at Harvard University/Mass General Brigham.

Dr. Dernbach specializes in medical toxicology, addiction psychiatry, and the care of patients with substance use disorders. His clinical and research interests focus on the intersection of psychiatry, addiction, and medical toxicology, with a particular interest in improving care for patients following overdose. His research goals include developing a post-overdose clinic designed to provide longitudinal care and help reduce the risk of repeat overdose.

We are excited to welcome Dr. Dernbach to the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine and look forward to the contributions he will make to our clinical, educational, and research missions.
