VIPC Awards Commonwealth Commercialization Fund Grant to Carilion Medical Center

The Virginia Innovation Partnership Corporation (VIPC) has awarded Carilion a Commonwealth Commercialization Fund grant in the amount of $75,000. Dr. Umar Sofi from the Pulmonary Clinical Section is the principal investigator for this grant.
Dr. Sofi, in collaboration Virginia Tech, is working to design and build an innovative oxygen delivery system to adapt to a patient's respiratory needs for high-flow oxygen. The development of the prototype of the flow-regulated nasal oxygen delivery system will offer significant improvements to current oxygen delivery systems. Find out more about Dr. Sofi and VIPC here.
