Carilion Announces New Vice President of Hospital Operations

Carilion Clinic announced, today, that Charlotte C. Tyson is the newest member of its leadership team, acting as Vice President of Hospital Operations. In this role, she oversees Guest and Volunteer Services. She also acts as a clinical liaison for expansion and renovation projects and other organizational priorities.

Tyson has worked in health care for more than three decades with HCA – LewisGale Regional Health System, starting her career as a nurse and most recently serving as Market Chief Operating Officer. As a seasoned leader, her past roles include Chief Operating Officer, Chief Nurse Executive, Interim President and Chief Executive Officer.

Tyson received her Associates Degree in Nursing from Virginia Western Community College, Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University and her Master of Health Administration from Pfeiffer University. She is also an American College of Healthcare Executives Fellow and serves on the board of the Virginia Blue Ridge Affiliate of Susan G. Komen.
