Becker’s Hospital Review names Carilion Roanoke Memorial among Great Hospitals

National health care trade publication Becker’s Hospital Review has recognized Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital as one of the “2023 Great Hospitals in America.”

Becker’s included hospitals that were renowned for clinical excellence, patient safety, innovation efforts, research and education, patient satisfaction and more. Carilion Roanoke Memorial, the 718-bed flagship of Carilion Clinic, is currently undergoing a $500 million expansion to broaden Level 1 trauma services, specialty cardiovascular offerings and more.

“Our expert teams and academic medical center partnerships are instrumental in making Roanoke Memorial a great hospital,” said Nancy Howell Agee, Carilion Clinic’s Chief Executive Officer. “Moreover, the new Crystal Spring Tower, now under construction, will further elevate care and expand access for patients throughout our region.”

As an academic medical center, in addition to providing clinical care, the hospital engages in teaching and developing future clinicians and medical leaders as a partner in the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and Radford University Carilion.
