About the Program

The Carilion Clinic Cancer Survivorship Program seeks to positively contribute to the health and well-being of cancer survivors from the time of diagnosis until the end of life, through the coordinated and collective effort of communities, public and private organizations, and individuals. In our pilot year, we hope to support cancer survivors by:

  • Addressing psychological support needs of patients and their caregivers
  • Developing physical activity programs for cancer survivors, in partnership with community wellness centers
  • Increasing screening for and addressing reproductive health needs for those with a cancer diagnosis

Accessing centralized resources will enhance health care professionals' ability to recognize challenges, treat conditions and support patients more comprehensively after they complete cancer treatment.

Carilion Cancer Care is a Commission on Cancer-accredited cancer program.
