Research Day 2024
The 17th annual Research Day, held on Tuesday April 9th, saw a record number of abstract submissions, to date. The morning included virtual talks from medical students, residents, fellows, physicians, and staff discussing a variety of research topics from the bench side to bedside followed by a poster session in the late morning and afternoon. Research collaborators included Virginia Tech, Radford University, Vistar, as well as Carilion staff from CNRV, a testament to the broadening research efforts at Carilion. Research and Development has reviewed over 200 research applications in 2023, including 35 new sponsored clinical trials led by 20 Carilion Clinic principal investigators and over 900 clinical trial participants, as delineated in our Fast Facts Flyer.
