Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is an evidenced based treatment approach for young children between the ages of 2-7 struggling with difficult behaviors. This technique incorporates strategies to assist the young child in learning ways to manage negative emotions.

Social Thinking Curriculum is a program that facilitates development of social and communication skills in children. This approach provides a structure to help the child learn to consider the points of view, emotions, thoughts, beliefs, prior knowledge and intentions of others.

TF-CBT is an evidence-based treatment designed to help children, adolescents, and their parents address the negative effects of trauma, including processing traumatic memories, overcoming problematic thoughts and behaviors, and developing effective coping and interpersonal skills.

Opened in October 2021, the fully accessible Carilion Children’s Tanglewood Center brings Carilion Children’s outpatient practices together to better serve our young patients and their families. Together with Pediatric Medicine, 18 specialties and services will be available at the new location. The facility is located at 4348 Electric Road in Roanoke.
