Biography

Zachary Tilley is a newly graduated hospice and palliative physician who completed his fellowship at Carilion Clinic. As an Appalachian native, Zach has always been passionate about rural medicine, a passion that began during his childhood in southern West Virginia. He attended the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, WV, where he deepened his commitment to the field by volunteering at a local hospice house.

After medical school, Zach, his wife Ashleigh (from Covington, VA) and their firstborn son moved to Roanoke so that Zach could pursue internal medicine training, which he completed during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic. Driven by a strong desire to provide compassionate end-of-life care, he has chosen to continue his practice with Carilion Clinic. Along the way, Zach and Ashleigh have welcomed two more children and two dogs into their family. Zach remains dedicated to serving the wonderful people of southwest Virginia and is excited to be a part of the Carilion team.
