Biography

Dr. Capito earned his medical degree at the West Virginia University School of Medicine and completed both an internship and his residency in integrated plastic surgery at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He then completed a fellowship in hand and upper extremity at Curtis National Hand Center at Baltimores Union Memorial Hospital, where he earned the Michael Murphy Fellow Research Award.

Dr. Capito joined Carilion Clinic in 2015 as a dual-certified hand surgeon and plastic/reconstructive surgeon. He specializes in hand surgery at Carilion Clinics Institute for Orthopaedics and Neurosciences and elective cosmetic procedures at Carilion Clinic Cosmetic Center. His approach to patient care is to work together with the goal of improved quality of life.
