Road Closure to Impact Traffic Patterns at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital

Beginning the afternoon of Tuesday, June 24, the portion of Belleview Avenue next to the Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital West Pavilion (brick tower nearest the river) is closing. This closure will cause a traffic pattern shift.

What You Need to Know:

  • The closure will remain in place indefinitely as we finalize construction plans for the façade.
  • Our Terrace View Garage and North Entrance will only be accessible via Walnut Avenue (see detour map below).
  • All parking garages remain open, and there is increased shuttle service. Parking in the new McClanahan Garage is another alternative for patients and visitors to the hospital. See our campus map here to view all parking garages
  • Pedestrians should use the Terrace View Garage tunnel to enter the hospital (parking garage starred on the satellite map below). The alternative crosswalk across Belleview near the Jefferson Street bridge is also available and marked by wayfinding.

The closure is occurring out of an abundance of caution so we can safely move forward with construction. If visiting the hospital, please allow extra time to navigate traffic changes

We understand that any change to traffic patterns can be disruptive and thank you in advance for your patience. As more updates become available, we will share them here.
