About
Program Overview
Carilion Women’s has the largest team of highly-trained experts in Southwest Virginia who treat a variety of complex conditions for women in all phases of life. We offer comprehensive gynecologic and obstetric care for thousands of women each year. Our dedicated birthing centers at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital (CRMH) and Carilion New River Valley Medical Center (CNRV) deliver more than 4,000 babies annually, and our integration with the region’s only Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at CRMH gives babies who need specialized care the best possible start in life.

Research
Obstetrics and Gynecology Research
Our goal is to help women be as healthy as possible through every stage of life, from adolescence through childbearing years to menopause and beyond. We welcome participation by interested individuals in our studies.
Gynecologic Oncology Research
This program conducts numerous progressive research trials through its affiliations with the Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG), the National Cancer Institute (NCI), and leaders in the pharmaceutical research industry. This research is targeted to ovarian, cervical, uterine, and vulvar cancers and provides specialized options for patients in all cancer stages.
