Our Simulation program is dedicated to advancing safe, high-quality care through immersive, evidence-based clinical simulation.
Guided by Carilion’s mission to improve the health of the communities we serve, we use the full spectrum of simulation—ranging from foundational skills practice to high-fidelity, multidisciplinary scenarios—to prepare healthcare professionals for real-world challenges.
Accredited in Teaching and Education by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare, CSRPS has earned exemplary recognition for its focus on the patient experience and its commitment to community engagement. Our vision is to enhance the delivery of healthcare by providing exceptional simulation experiences that seamlessly integrate education, clinical practice improvement, and research.

With specialized environments including a skills lab, operating room, trauma bay, mother/baby-pediatric suite, ambulance simulator (“Simbulance”), and adaptive patient room, participants train with the same equipment and conditions they encounter in clinical practice. This enables teams to refine competencies, strengthen communication, and optimize critical processes before they're implemented in patient care settings.

Meet Our Team
Our facility operates with the Simulation Facilitator model in which our team provides end-to-end simulation expertise. Our team intakes your programmatic needs, helps to develop your cases based on your goals and objectives, operates those simulations with our faculty advisors, and then debriefs the scenario with the participants. All our team members are CHSE or CHSOS certified.
