Biography
Dr. Lu received her undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Wisconsin and continued her education at New York Medical College, receiving her Doctorate of Medicine. Following medical school, she completed her residency at the University of Virginia and went on to do an interventional pain fellowship at the University of Vermont in Burlington, VT. She practiced both pain management as well as anesthesiology. She enjoyed working in the academic setting including teaching and variety of challenging cases. In 2016, she moved back to Virginia to be closer to her family, and joined the pain management clinic at Carilion.
Dr. Lu is fully committed to developing a comprehensive, patient centered, and multi-modal approach in treating pain for her patients, especially as opioid epidemic continues in southwest Virginia. She believes in listening to the patients with compassion, and to develop a plan tailored to each patient. Dr. Lu has a goal of helping patients try to improve their functional goals as well as improve their quality of life.
