Biography
Dr. Clark grew up in Fairfax County, VA outside of Washington, DC. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Economics from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. After two years working as a hospital clinical technician in northern Virginia, he returned the University of Virginia where he earned his Doctor of Medicine. He then moved to Nashville, TN where he completed Anesthesiology residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was again drawn back to Charlottesville, where he completed fellowship subspecialty training in Interventional Pain Management at the University of Virginia.
Dr. Clark is excited to continue serving the population of Virginia, and he is impressed by the vision and leadership at Carilion Clinic. Having had family members affected by chronic pain and the opioid crisis, he is particularly sensitive to providing patient-centered care, with a focus on targeted, minimally invasive procedures, in concert with physical therapy and rehabilitation. Dr. Clark understands that the goal of chronic pain management is not just a reduction in pain score, but in recapturing the activities and relationships devastated by chronic pain.
When he is not providing patient care, Dr. Clark enjoys reading, spending time outside, and exploring southwest Virginia with his wife and two boys.
