Biography
Dr. Ian Reynolds is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. From 2018-2020, Dr. Reynolds served as an Assistant Professor of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Colorado and the Geriatric Fellowship Site Director at the Rocky Mountain Regional Veterans Affairs Hospital. There he became the Geriatric Medicine Training Director for the Geriatric Research, Education, and Clinic Center (GRECC) in 2020. He is currently the Medical Director at Raleigh Court Health and Rehabilitation, which is a 120 bed Subacute Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care facility.
Dr. Reynolds graduated with distinction from the University of Minnesota, earning a BA in Physiology. He joined the AmeriCorp following graduation where he served as Chronic Disease Management Coordinator at the Rhode Island Free Clinic in Providence, Rhode Island, an institution focused on the care of underserved and minoritized communities. Dr. Reynolds attended medical school at the University of Minnesota and completed his Internal Medicine Residency and a Geriatric Fellowship at the University of Colorado.
Dr. Reynolds is a committed clinician educator and academic in the field of Geriatric Medicine. He has given regional, state, and national lectures on various geriatric medicine topics and has multiple publications in textbook chapters and international journals. His research interests include cannabis use in older adults, exercise and running into adulthood, and innovative models for graduate medical education.
