Biography
Dr. Oliver is specially trained for treating complex problems of the middle ear and mastoid secondary to chronic otitis media and its complications, such as tympanoplasty (ear drum reconstruction), ossiculoplasty (rebuilding the ear bones), mastoidectomy (typically performed to address cholesteatoma), and treatment of conductive hearing loss, such as stapedectomy (surgery for otosclerosis). He also has expertise in lateral skull base surgery including intracranial surgery for acoustic neuroma (vestibular schwannoma) and other cranial base tumors, repair of skull base defects and cerebrospinal fluid leak, and surgery for vertigo such as repair superior semicircular canal dehiscence.
His clinical interests include surgical management of hearing loss, otosclerosis, cochlear implantation for children and adults, treatment of acoustic neuroma and other skull based tumors, and surgery for cholesteatoma and chronic otitis media.
