Biography
Elizabeth Russo-Stringer, MD is a pain physician who chose to move to Roanoke for the opportunity to work at Carilion. One aspect of Roanoke that was attractive to her was the exceptional private and public colleges available in Virginia which will open up many opportunities for her daughter.
Dr. Elizabeth Russo-Stringer is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She graduated from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge with Bachelors of Science degrees in Microbiology and Zoology. She received her medical doctorate from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans (Charity Hospital) and completed her residency in Anesthesia at the University of Alabama, Birmingham. She then completed her fellowship in Interventional Pain Management at the University of Alabama, Birmingham. After fellowship, Dr. Russo-Stringer was in private practice in Baton Rouge for 9.5 years.
Dr. Russo-Stringer is impressed by the leadership at Carilion Clinic and excited to be part of the growth of the pain department. She is proud to be part of a not-for-profit healthcare center that provides exceptional care to all members of the community. Her personal goal is to provide compassionate care to her patients and remains committed to improving their function and quality of life.
