Center for Human Factors
Our team is dedicated to improving health care outcomes through the rigorous application of human factors engineering.
Human factors is a science that explores human capabilities and limitations, and designs work processes that make it easy to do the right thing and hard to do the wrong thing. Our human factors team works closely with clinicians and patients to improve patient safety and quality of care for all of our patients and staff.

Supporting our System
Even the most skilled Clinician or Surgeon is bound by the limits of human capacity.
Our Human Factors team works with all elements of the system to design systems, devices, workflows and work environments so that it is easy and intuitive to do the right thing, and difficult to make errors. Using the sciences of systems thinking and psychology, we analyze and simplify complex medical processes to make it easier to deliver the right care at the right time.

Our Engineers and Staff
Our Human Factors team has a diverse set of skills and education, from psychology to industrial systems engineering.
