Program Overview

Care in Carilion Children’s NICU is led by our neonatologists, doctors specially trained to treat newborn babies. In addition to our neonatologists, our NICU team includes:

  • Neonatal nurse practitioners
  • Registered nurses
  • Registered respiratory therapists
  • Physical, speech and occupational therapists
  • Child life specialists
  • Lactation consultants
