Help us Improve the Health Care Experience

At Carilion Children's, your voice counts. Partnering with us on the Family Advisory Board (FAB) gives you the opportunity to share your thoughts and suggestions about your experience in our Children's Hospital. This will help us determine changes needed to better serve you and your neighbors in the future. We are interested in hearing both the things that we did well so that we continue to do those, and what could have been done differently to improve your time with us.

Being a FAB Volunteer means:

• Sharing your knowledge and experiences
• Partnering with us to improve the patient experience
• Attending the Family Advisory Board meetings

FAB Volunteer should be:

• Interested in sharing their care experience(s) at Carilion Children's
• Interested in volunteering directly with current Carilion Children's parents, patients, and caregivers
• Respectful of different opinions and able to work well with others

 As an FAB volunteer you can: 

• Assist in volunteer opportunities on the Pediatric Floors
• Serve dinner quarterly at Ronald McDonald House
• Provide presentations to new staff and residents from a parent perspective
• Help with projects that improve our patient experience

Your time commitment:

This is a volunteer opportunity. Current meetings will be held on the first Thursday of every month at 5:30 PM EST with no meetings held in June or July.
