Ovarian Cancer: Understand Your Risk
Ovarian cancer is often called a “silent” disease because it can be hard to detect early.
Erin J. Saks, MDChief, Gynecologic Cancers"I have dedicated my life to the delivery of cutting-edge, comprehensive, and compassionate care to women who have been diagnosed with gynecologic cancer. It is a privilege to serve them through their entire cancer journey."

As an accredited program, we're dedicated to improving survival and quality of life for people with cancer. Our team is committed to serving our patients and community by reducing the incidence of cancer and ensuring access to screening, early detection, treatment and quality care.
ACS Cancer Program
Our gynecologic cancer surgeons offer expert surgical care, personalized to a woman’s specific needs, using the full spectrum of surgical techniques, both traditional open surgery and minimally invasive surgery, and including the advanced robotic (da Vinci®) surgical system.

Carilion Clinic provides infusion therapy for patients in comfortable outpatient settings designed for quiet and calm during sessions.
About Our Outpatient Infusion Center
Hereditary cancer develops because of a genetic mutation, passed down from a parent to a child. It is important to identify families with hereditary susceptibility to cancer because they can take steps to reduce their risk or prevent cancer from occurring.
About Our Genetics Program
The Carilion Clinic Cancer Survivorship Program seeks to positively contribute to the health and well-being of cancer survivors from the time of diagnosis until the end of life, through the coordinated and collective effort of communities, public and private organizations, and individuals.
About Our Survivorship Program
At Carilion Clinic, we offer palliative and supportive care services to improve the quality of life for any patient, regardless of where they are in the treatment course. One of our doctors, Janet Osborne, MD, is board-certified in both gynecologic oncology and palliative medicine.
