MBC psychotherapy study assesses the effectiveness of measurement-based care in psychotherapy.

About This Study

Summary

Measurement-based care (MBC) uses patient-reported outcome measures to inform clinical decision-making and treatment. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of MBC in adults with depressive and anxiety disorders in a psychotherapy setting. Participants will complete questionnaires before their therapy sessions and will be randomized into a treatment group that decides whether the clinicians will use these results to monitor symptoms and make decisions regarding treatment.

To be included in MBC, participants must be / have

  • Adults over 18
  • Able to complete questionnaires via email or cell phone
  • Able to attend 12 weekly psychotherapy sessions

To be included in MBC, participants must not be / have

  • Intellectual disability or non-verbal
  • Unable to provide consent or complete questionnaires
  • Currently receiving psychotherapy elsewhere
  • Significant suicidal/homicidal risk
