Biography
Dr. Pineyro was born and raised in the Dominican Republic. Since a young age, he volunteered his time to underserved populations and fell in love with the medical field. After graduation from medical school, he worked in rural places in the Dominican Republic and in multiple tourist places were he learned about the immense need for mental health services. This this motivated him to come to the United States for training. He considers himself lucky to get trained in the Bronx in NYC that has a challenging, diverse and underserved population. He found an amazing opportunity in the fellowship in Consultation Liaison Psychiatry to get in an environment that combine general medicine and psychiatry in an underserved population. After graduating, he worked in inpatient, outpatient, collaborative care and consultation services for the last 3 years.
