Biography
Dr. Michole Pineda moved to the United States from the Philippines in 1992 where she completed her Medical Degree at the University of Santo Tomas School of Medicine. She then completed her Pediatric Residency at Orlando Regional Medical Center-Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Women in Orlando, Florida.
Dr. Pineda has practiced General Pediatrics in Rocky Mount, Virginia, Edinburg, Texas, and Lumberton, North Carolina, before she decided to pursue Fellowship training in Developmental Pediatrics. She completed her fellowship training at the University of Virginia.
She has always loved the people of Southwest Virginia and when the opportunity came, she decided to pursue coming back to Roanoke. She has always considered this part of Virginia her home. She joined Carilion Clinic in 2012.
Dr. Pineda is Board Certified in both General Pediatrics and Developmental Pediatrics. She sees children with developmental disabilities from all walks of life. She is passionate about reaching families in rural Southwest Virginia and has advocated for Telehealth. Her clinic has been able to reach families that would have waited months and months to be seen.
Dr. Pineda is proud of her interdisciplinary team. She works with a medical doctor, nurse practitioners, psychologists, nurses, social workers, educators, therapists (Speech, Occupational, and Physical), medical assistants, and health administrative assistants. Her team also works with Psychiatry fellows, Pediatric residents, Medical/Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant students.
Dr. Pineda has a very caring husband and two wonderful sons who have supported her pursuit for higher education with patience and humor
