Biography
Dr. Helvey earned his medical degree at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, W.Va. He then completed his residency and an internship St. Vincents Mercy Medical School, where he was named chief resident.
Dr. Helvey joined Carilion Clinic in 2013 as an orthopaedic specialist. A board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, he treats patients at Carilions Institute for Orthopaedics and Neurosciences at Carilion Giles Community Hospital.
While not in the office, Dr. Helvey enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter and five sons.
