Biography
Dr. Margaret R. Rukstalis is an addiction psychiatrist who joined the Carilion Clinic team in 2022 as the Medical Director of Addiction Psychiatry. Dr. Rukstalis completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Colorado and medical school at Dartmouth Medical School, followed by an internship in Pathology and Transitional Medicine at Harvard Medical School and residency in General Psychiatry at the University of Chicago. She completed a Clinical Pharmacology Fellowship at the University of Chicago and an Addiction Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Rukstalis has coauthored more than fifty scientific articles, book chapters and a book. She participates in research and numerous educational activities.
