Biography
Maggie George, PA-C received her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and minor in biology from Roanoke College where she was a member of their division III soccer team. She worked as a Certified Athletic Trainer and Medical Scribe for Carilion Orthopaedics and the Emergency Department at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. In 2016, she received her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Chatham University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She then chose to complete an orthopaedic fellowship at Carilion Clinic Institute of Orthopaedics. She has since been a sports medicine physician assistant with the group, providing sideline coverage for high school football, seeing patients in the clinic, and assisting in the operating room. Maggie's particular areas of interest include shoulder instability and multiligamentous knee injuries. She holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Orthopedic Surgery from the National Association of Physician Assistants that recognizes her proficiency and specialization in orthopedic surgery. She is a member of the American Association of Physician Assistants and the Virginia Orthopaedic Society. Maggie enjoys trail running with her german shorthaired pointer, as well as traveling and skiing with her husband, George.
