Biography
Kelly Usrey grew up in San Angelo, Texas and graduated with her Genetic Counseling degree from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in 2010. She practiced prenatal genetic counseling in Kansas and Arizona, before joining Carilion Clinic's Maternal Fetal Medicine team in 2017. While in Kansas City, she also worked in pediatric medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center, focusing on research to improve quality of life for individuals with Prader Willi syndrome.
Mrs. Usrey enjoys training Carilion's residents and visiting genetic counseling students, teaching Virginia Tech-Carilion medical students, and most importantly, helping her patients navigate the complex world of genetic risk assessment and testing in pregnancy. Her goal is to provide accessible genetic counseling and information to all patients, regardless of history or indication.
