Biography
Dr. Katie Rakes is dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized care for women at every stage of life. She values strong patient relationships and empowers women through education and shared decision-making. Her clinical interests include gynecologic surgery and maternal health. Dr. Rakes earned her undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University, a master’s in teaching from Hollins University, and her medical degree from VCOM-VA. She completed her OB/GYN residency at Virginia Tech Carilion SOM, earning recognition for excellence in teaching, research, and surgery. She sees patients at the Daleville and Riverside OBGYN clinics. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.
