Biography

Jessica L. Buckwalter, D.D.S. earned her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from Virginia Commonwealth University and her dental degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, School of Dentistry. She continued her education in Carilion Clinic's Dental Residency program where she completed a hospital based general practice residency program focused on care for medically compromised patients, special needs patients and hospital bound patients. Dr. Buckwalter specializes in comprehensive family dentistry and her clinical interests include but are not limited to esthetic dentistry focused on internal bleaching, anterior restorations, crowns, etc. Dr. Buckwalter believes in patient centered care where patients feel at home during treatment and informed of all their options giving them control of their oral care.

Born and raised in Vienna, VA, Dr. Buckwalter decided to be a dentist after being a dental assistant for years with the coolest boss/dentist, Dr. Edward Hindman Jr. His ability to educate while treating patients inspired her to follow in his footsteps and start a career in dentistry. She is excited to learn more about complex prosthodontic cases while working alongside Dr. Powell. She is accepting new patients of all ages and conditions.
