Biography

Dr. Wells was born in California and raised on the East Coast. She largely divided her adult life between the 2 coasts. She initially trained in OB/GYN at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) and later completed a second residency in psychiatry at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine (VTCSOM). She became boarded in addiction medicine in 2018. As Director of Women's Mental Health services, she holds a special interest in the treatment of women and caring for pregnant and parenting women with mental health and addiction issues.

Outside of the office, Dr. Wells can be found meandering through the great many trails throughout SW Virginia and its neighboring states with her beloved dogs running alongside her. She is an avid traveler and photographer and when she is not away in another country, she can be found meticulously planning her next trip.
