Biography
Dr. Holbrook is an orthopaedic surgeon with advanced fellowship training in hand and upper extremity surgery. He specializes in the diagnosis, surgical and non-surgical treatment, and rehabilitation of traumatic injuries and degenerative conditions affecting the hand, wrist, forearm, and elbow. He began his medical training at Wake Forest School of Medicine, where he earned his medical degree in 2018. Following medical school, he completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at the Campbell Clinic—University of Tennessee Health Science Center and pursued a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at the Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center in 2024.
In 2024, Dr. Holbrook joined Carilion Clinic as a hand and upper extremity surgeon. He also serves as an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, where he is actively involved in medical education, resident training, and clinical research. He believes in a patient-centered approach, tailoring each treatment plan to the individual’s goals, lifestyle, and long-term function. Whether managing an acute injury or a chronic degenerative condition, Dr. Holbrook emphasizes communication, shared decision-making, and evidence-based care.
