Emily was very caring and concerned, answered all my questions, listened to all my answers, took the time to make sure she understood what I was telling her, and that I understood what she was telling me.
My interactions with Emily during this visit was the most caring and thorough I have experienced in quite some time. She was able to explain why I needed to continue the medicine and sympathized with the apparent adverse side effects it may cause. I left the office feeling much more relieved about the course of treatment.
Dr. Emily King is the best Doctor I've had in the Carilion system in years. Such a friendly, respectable person. I had only seen Emily once before my condition worsened. Admitted to hospital and Dr. King followed me through the illness. There were many phone calls and Carilion my chart messages. Dr. King or her Nurse always responded promptly even with me being a new patient. I would recommend, and already have to anyone who needs a Gastroenterologist to contact this office.

In the last few years I have experienced urinary and bowel incontinence. It has been really hard dealing with this problem. I have done exercises, changed my diet and tried every option that was suggested or I have studied myself to deal with this. Nothing helps for long and everything changes often. It is very difficult to deal with especially the bowel incontinence. Perhaps this is an issue to be studied more since people are living longer. Since I am in my early eighties perhaps this will be something I will continue to struggle with. This is very frustrating.
