Biography
Allie Dunleavy is a board-certified physician assistant practicing in Roanoke, Lexington, and New River Valley. She primarily practices and operates under the supervision of Jonathan Carmouche, MD, and his orthopaedic spine team while also working with the orthopaedic joint reconstruction team from time to time. Her goal is to provide knowledge and compassion to all of her surgical patients.
Allie completed her undergraduate studies at the College of William and Mary of Williamsburg, VA, where she received a BS in Biology and a BS in Kinesiology. She then returned to her hometown of Roanoke, VA, to Jefferson College of Health Sciences to complete her master's degree in physician assistant studies in 2010.
She began working in the orthopaedic spine field in 2011 and joined the Carilion orthopaedic spine team as an integral member in 2015. She prides herself on being part of the exceptional care provided by the orthopaedic spine surgeons and PAs. She is always working to be an advocate for her patients in clinical, surgical, and peri-operative care.
In addition to practicing medicine, she is an active member of the American Academy of Physician's Assistants and happily endorses the capability of the physician assistant in our community. Outside of the office, Allie enjoys running for exercise, although lately this most often occurs while running after her husband and two children. A former competitive track athlete, she continues to hold the school record in the 800m and 600m at the College of William and Mary. She is the youngest of four siblings and always loves spending time with her growing nieces and nephews. Her experiences in her professional, physical, and personal life have defined her personality, allowing her to be a better healthcare professional.
