Carilion Clinic PGY2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Residency Program participates in the ASHP-associated Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service (PhORCAS) for applications and the National Matching Service (NMS) for the residency matching process.

Qualifications

All candidates must be graduates of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited Doctor of Pharmacy program or have a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) certificate from the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) and be eligible for pharmacist licensure in Virginia. Applicants shall have completed (or currently be completing) an ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency. If accepted into the program, a valid license to practice pharmacy in the state of Virginia must be obtained.

  • Minimum of 3 letters of recommendation

On-site interviews for invited applicants occur in late January through February.

The PGY2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Residency Program conducted by Carilion Clinic, Roanoke, VA has an accreditation pre-candidate status with ASHP.

Our Location

Roanoke, nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, offers easy access to the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway and more than 60 parks and recreational areas. Residents and visitors can enjoy miles of trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding, and breathtaking mountain views. The city hosts the Blue Ridge Marathon, and the Roanoke Valley Greenways link extensive paths for walking, running, and cycling.

Just 30 minutes away, Smith Mountain Lake features 500 miles of shoreline ideal for boating, fishing, and relaxing.
