Every woman’s life counts. That’s why Carilion Clinic’s Every Woman’s Life program and the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation help women who can’t afford annual breast and cervical cancer screenings get them for free.
Access to Quality Care for Every Woman: Free Mammograms and Pap Tests
Our goal is to keep all women healthy, but during challenging economic times we recognize that you may be tempted to delay or even forgo annual mammograms and Pap tests because you can't afford them.
Fortunately, with Every Woman's Life, a program that is federally funded through the Virginia Department of Health, we can provide these invaluable preventive services free of charge, provided you meet these qualifications:
- You are between the ages of 40 and 64 and are a full-time Virginia resident
- Patients over 64 without insurance are also eligible
- Your family income is at or below 250 percent of federal poverty guidelines. Information is available online at aspe.hhs.gov/poverty/index.cfm.
- You have no health insurance, no Medicaid or Medicare or are under-insured
Younger low-income women between the ages of 18 and 39 may also be eligible for free breast and cervical cancer diagnostic testing.
