Residency Program
The Dental General Practice Residency trains residents to meet the guidelines set forth by the Council on Dental Accreditation. The residency includes advanced and comprehensive training in dental implantology, posterior molar endodontics, third molar removal, periodontal surgery, oral oncology, management of patients at the medical/dental interface, nasoalveolar molding for cleft lip and palate and an IV sedation exposure. In the optional second year, residents can complete the conscious sedation curriculum and clinical case documentation that meets most state licensing requirements. Residents also study oral medicine at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine.
