Biography

Melissa Martinez grew up in Roanoke, Virginia. She attended college at Radford University Carilion. She has been with Carilion for 10 years in various roles, as both a registered nurse and nurse practitioner. She has particular interest in treating patients with traumatic brain injuries stroke, and anoxic brain injuries. Her background in the Neuro-Trauma Intensive Care Unit and in Life-Guard as a flight nurse have provided her with a unique background in caring for patients who have suffered from traumatic brain injuries.

Melissa took great care of me. She had my records and went way back to when I was seeing Dr. Donald Smith to see how he had resolved a similar problem. I sent her a message within a day or two to let her know how much I appreciated that and to let her know how much better I was feeling already. She also promptly gave me the results for the tests that had been sent out.
