Training Overview
This is a 4-hour, self-paced training series developed by Carilion Clinic in partnership with Community Education Group to help primary care and MAT clinicians confidently screen, diagnose, and treat hepatitis C infection, and prevent HIV. Upon completion of this training, you'll gain:
- Practical skills to expand testing and prevention services in your practice
- 4 CME credits
- Access to our exclusive hepatitis C e-Consult service for expert clinical support
- Resources and job aids to improve patient care and outcomes
The training supports clinical readiness across high need regions of West Virginia, Kentucky, and Virginia and is open to MDs, DOs, NPs, and PAs. You'll begin by completing a pre-survey and are then enrolled in the 360Learning platform, where you receive access to the full curriculum and can complete the coursework on your own schedule throughout the training period.


This training is available with support from Community Education Group (CEG). CEG improves access to healthcare for underserved rural communities and community-based organizations throughout Appalachia.

Training Objectives and CME
Training objectives
- Describe HCV and HIV basic concepts, epidemiology, and disease progression
- Complete HCV and HIV screening and diagnosis
- Interpret HCV and HIV-related lab results and pre-treatment evaluations
- Select appropriate HCV and HIV treatments with an understanding of drug interactions
- Manage patient HCV and HIV therapy and related complications, including for unique populations
- Determine when advanced and complicated cases need to be referred to a specialist
