Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship
About
Program Overview
This fellowship is a one-year program offering 2 positions at a busy Level I Trauma Center (Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital) serving more than a million people across Southwest Virginia. Built around a one-on-one mentorship model, the fellowship develops fellows in patient-centered care, surgical skills, clinical decision-making, and research.
Fellows gain exposure to a diverse patient population—including pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients—and a high volume of multiply injured and polytrauma cases. They work closely with fellowship-trained orthopaedic traumatologists, participate in resident education, and complete at least one publishable-quality research project.
The program provides extensive operative experience, robust mentorship, and meaningful academic opportunities within a high-volume trauma service.
