Department of Neurointerventional Radiology

We focus on the brain, neck and spine—treating serious conditions through minimally invasive, image-guided procedures.

About

Program Overview

Neurointerventional Radiology uses minimally invasive technologies to treat conditions in patients with stroke, brain aneurysms or other vascular diseases in the head, neck and spine. Our team uses state-of-the-art, image-guided techniques to deliver therapeutic agents to affected areas of the brain, neck and spine. Benefits include shorter hospital stays, reduced recovery times and decreased risks associated with open surgery.

Virginia Tech Carilion Partnership

The Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine (VTCSOM) formed out of an innovative public-private partnership with Virginia Tech. Together, we are working to transform health care by educating the physician leaders of tomorrow. VTCSOM uses a patient-centered curriculum designed to develop physicians who can take research from the lab to the patient’s bedside. Students learn, train and work side by side with Carilion’s highly experienced medical staff.

Message from Leadership

Welcome to the Neurointerventional Radiology team at Carilion Clinic. We're a group of dedicated professionals who consistently provide exceptional care for our patients. In addition, we participate in research to not only promote scientific and clinical knowledge, but to also serve as leaders in the forefront of advanced cerebrovascular care. This gives us early access to techniques and devices that we can offer to our patients, ultimately leading to better clinical outcomes. We offer some of the most advanced treatments and techniques for patients in our communities, and I invite you to learn more about our team and our exceptional level of care.
