Department of Interventional Pain Management
About
Program Overview
At Carilion Clinic, we offer comprehensive pain care with a focus on functional restoration and quality of life in order to improve the health of the communities we serve.
Carilion Clinic, in partnership with the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC, brings together clinicians, learners, scientists and the community in an integrative and comprehensive pain management service.
Carilion's pain management focuses on functional restoration and improvement of pain using interventional therapies, physical therapy and exercise, and psychological therapies. Through robust research and education across the learning continuum, the section pioneers and delivers evidence-based pain therapies.
Virginia Tech Carilion Partnership
Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine uses a patient-centered curriculum designed to train physicians who can take research from the lab to the patient’s bedside. Students learn, train and work side by side with Carilion’s highly experienced medical staff. All of our physicians are fellowship trained, double boarded interventional pain physicians and serve as assistant professors at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. We are actively involved in research for the advancement of evaluation and treatment of chronic pain issues. The collaborative team of physicians, advanced clinical practitioners, psychologists, nurses, and staff allow us to provide patients the best outcomes in achieving functional restoration, through the most advanced therapies to help our patients improve their function.
Mission, Goals and Strengths
We are committed to work with you as a team to improve your pain, quality of life, and function.
