Dr. Wolfteich has over 25 years providing services to children and families as a licensed psychologist. She has worked within child protective agencies and Children's Advocacy Centers (CACs) conducting psychological evaluations, forensic interviews, therapy, program evaluation, and research. As a therapist, she is certified in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) as well as Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TFCBT) and has training in Child Parent Psychotherapy. Prior to joining Carilion Clinic, Paula was the Clinical Director and part of the trauma treatment team at the National Children's Advocacy Center in Huntsville, AL. She has over 10 years of teaching and research experience at the undergraduate and graduate level teaching courses primarily in child and developmental psychology, assessment and child therapies. Her clinical expertise includes child sexual abuse, trauma assessment and treatment, and attachment-based therapies.
