Chief, Urogynecology
Dr. Gleason joined Carilion Clinic in July of 2012 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is an Assistant Professor of OB/GYN and Surgery at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine where he was awarded the 2013 National Faculty Award from the Counsel of Residency Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Gleason completed residency at the University of Pennsylvania, and then completed a three-year fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is an active member of the research community, the Resident Research Director for OBGYN, and has published work on overactive bladder, caffeine intake, midurethral slings, urethral neurophysiology, prolapse surgery, and other areas related to PFD. He is a member of the Systematic Review Group and is an ad hoc reviewer for peer review journals. His clinical interests include vaginal, laparoscopic, and robotic surgery, neuromodulation, and complex fistulas.<br/><br/>
