I am a wife and a mother; not just a physician, administrator and blogger. I probably spent my weekend much like you did--catching up on stuff that went undone during the week, cooking, cleaning (a little) and doing laundry. But it was so nice out I had to get outside.
Lucky to live near the Blue Ridge Parkway, off I went on Saturday.
After 2 hours in the car, I had traveled less than 10 miles, but had several hundred photos to show for my efforts. Since so many of you enjoyed my clouds post , I thought you might like to see some fall colors on and near the Blue Ridge Parkway.
I love the autumn colors, and I love to try to catch light as it comes through the trees, making the leaves look absolutely ethereal. My spirits soar, and I am in love with nature and the world. Monday can bring anything it wants to bring. I feel ready having spent a few precious hours observing and photographing some of the best there is.
I love the way the light catches on the barbed wire behind the fence in the photo above, and the way the colors seem to cascade upon each other in the photo below:
One final photo: probably my favorite--look at how the light illuminates the leaves and enhances the contrast of the branches and trunks.
Enjoy your week. Keep images of light and color in your mind and no matter how difficult things may seem, you will be able to get through it.
