TRAINING INTERVENTIONAL CARDIOLOGY FELLOWS AT VIRGINIA TECH CARILION
The Virginia Tech Carilion Interventional Cardiology Program is a one year ACGME accredited program with two positions available yearly. An optional second unaccredited/junior faculty year is available for continued training in peripheral, structural interventions and Research.
We are fortunate to work in a high volume referral center located in the beautiful, affordable and family friendly Roanoke Valley in Southwestern Virginia. Our 6 cath labs, 2 EP labs and hybrid cath lab allow our Interventional Faculty the needed resources to perform 4413 diagnostic caths, 1828 coronary interventions, and 56 peripheral interventions each year. We have a growing structural intervention program. We perform 313 primary PCI for ST segment elevation and 34 rescue PCI for failed lytic therapy annually. Peripheral and structural interventions are growing each year as we work in close collaboration with our Interventional Radiologists and our Cardiac Surgeons.
We enjoy a robust conference schedule and support a weekly interventional didactic program. Basic and clinical Research opportunities range from innovative cellular biology to multi-center trials.
