Crane Work at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center to Close Some Parking

Carilion will bring two cranes on-site at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center (CNRV) to help install air handlers for the pharmacy.

In early July, a 100-ton crane will help set a steel post on the hospital’s roof. In August, a 550-ton crane will be set up and will lift the air handlers. The 550-ton crane will be visible from the highway. While the cranes are being set up and used, some sections of the parking lot outside CNRV will be closed.

The images in the gallery at the top of this page show the parking areas that will be closed during various times in the project — shaded areas are the areas that will be closed. Click on each image to view a higher-resolution version.
