Volunteers are a vital part of our hospital operations contributing to your health care experience. Each day, our volunteers can be seen throughout the Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital campus touching the lives of both patients and professionals alike. They not only provide an added measure of personal care for patients and their families, but they also supplement and complement clinical service delivery.
The CRMH Volunteer Program has grown to meet the needs of the ever–expanding Carilion Clinic flagship facility and today, the volunteer program includes an enthusiastic group of over 250 active adult and youth volunteers. Each year, our volunteers donate more than 30,000 hours of their lives as they work in more than two–dozen assignment areas between the hours of 5 a.m. and 9 p.m., seven days a week.
From hosting patients and visitors in waiting rooms, to assisting patrons in our gift shop, to delivering cards and flowers to inpatients, to literally guiding the hundreds of visitors to wherever they need to be on a given day, each volunteer is an unsung hero who touches the lives of countless people in all they do.
