Roanoke offers many races throughout the year.
Sports Medicine training
For those residents interested in pursuing a Sports Medicine Fellowship after residency or incorporating more musculoskeletal medicine into their practice, a sports medicine track is available. Within the track, interns will begin participating in high school and college sporting events coverage, Saturday morning injury clinics, Wednesday morning sports medicine conferences, and pre-participation physicals. Second year residents will have an additional rotation in sports medicine in the fall during which they cover high school football and work towards a presentation at a local or national sports medicine meeting. They will continue to work with the sports medicine faculty in opportunities throughout the year. Select third years will have the opportunity to be assigned a high school team.
Carilion Clinic Sports Medicine faculty include Priscilla Tu, DO, Mark Kasmer, MD (PM&R), TK Miller, MD (Orthopedics), and other Carilion Clinic Orthopedic Sports Medicine faculty.
